GENERAL PRINCIPLES

PUMST is a public institution which is open to anyone interested in the history of the Polish Underground State. The User, after completion of the Link: Prawa Autorskie Questionnaire (pdf in a new window) and familiarisation with the Link: Prawa Autorskie PUMST Regulations (pdf in a new window) may request required documents. Recommendations from learned institutions are welcomed.

The archive documentation, iconography and multimedia are accessible to all users,
with the exception of:
  • A small group of documents in the restricted fond of deposits. These are entrusted to PUMST by private individuals and institutions
  • Personal documents (chiefly of the so-called Verification Commission), in agreement with the data protection act, are accessible to the descendants of the persons whose data are sought.

FINDING AIDS

Various archival aids have been prepared for the majority of our collection: among them a collection guide, Link: Prawa Autorskie inventories, card indexes and registers. Aan electronic catalogue version (computerised data base) is in preparation.

COPYING

PUMST has at its disposal modern equipment for the accessing and copying of archived material, including: high quality scanners, digital cameras etc. In the near future the core of the PUMST archival collection – documents of the VIth Bureau of the C-in-C will be accessible mainly in an electronic form.

The Archive offers the following services: photocopying, scanning and digital photography

In case of publication of the copied material, a written consent of the PUMST and payment for transfer of Link: Prawa Autorskie copyrights is required.
